European shares gain on US Fed rate cut hopes; eye on UK vote
London's FTSE 100 gains 0.81% (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milan , 04 Jul - European share prices were mostly higher at mid-session, boosted by expectations the Federal Reserve could cut interest rates after weak US economic data.
Investors were also keeping an eye on elections in the UK, with the market discounting a victory for the Labour Party.
At 1055 GMT, London's FTSE 100 was up 0.81% at 8,237.60 points while in Frankfurt the DAX was 0.31% higher at 18,436.55 points and in Paris the CAC 40 was up 0.78% at 7,691.65 points. In Milan, the FTSE MIB was 0.58% higher at 34,041.00 points while in Madrid the IBEX 35 was 0.10% lower at 11,045.76 points.
