In Milan, UniCredit added 3.68% at 36.34 euros and Intesa rose 3.10% at 3.5970 euros. While in Frankfurt, Commerzbank closed 0.55% higher at 12.76 euros.

In Paris, Societe Generale and BNP Parisbas gained 0.48% at 21.06 euros and 1.07% at 61.12 euros, respectively.
