Enel places 2 bln usd multi-tranche sustainability bond

Orders total about 3 times offer (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Rome , 19 Jun - The Italian power utility Enel said it has successfully placed a 2 billion dollar multi-tranche US dollar sustainbility-linked bond with an average cost of about 4%, in line with the funding cost on the European market.

Overall orders totalled about three times the offer, Enel said.

The issue is linked to the achievement of Enel's sustainable objective relating to the reduction of Scope 1 greenhouse gas intensity relating to power generation, contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 13 (Climate Action) and in compliance with the Enel's sustainability-linked financing framework.

Enel noted that the new issue also contributes to further accelerating the achievement of its objectives related to the group's total gross debt funded from sustainable finance sources, set at around 70% by 2026.
