Chinese stocks close moderately lower, slip for 2nd day

Shanghai Composite down 0.24% at 2,998 points (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Shanghai , 21 Jun - Chinese stocks closed moderately lower, slipping for a second day amid weak Asian markets.

Mainland stock slid as strong foreign outflows weighed, as about 33 billion yuan left China this month via the Northbound leg of the Stock Connect Scheme, reversing a four-month streak of net inflows.

Caution prevailed as the Chinese Communist Party's central committee prepares to convene in July for a key meeting known as a plenum to discuss reform measures.

In mainland stock market dealings consumer shares led the way south, extending a recent selloff.

Healthcare, financials and real estate stocks also dropped.

The Shanghai Composite closed down 0.24% at 2,998 points, while the Shenzhen CSI 300 closed down 0.22% at 3,495 points.
