Shanghai Composite down 0.40% at 3,018 points (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Shanghai , 19 Jun - Chinese stocks closed moderately lower, retreating from yesterday's slight losses amid strong Asian markets.

In mainland stock market dealings financials rose, while consumer, real estate and healthcare stocks again slid, extending yesterday's losses.

Caution prevailed after mixed economic data released earlier this week that underscored the country's bumpy recovery.

The figures showed that China's retail sales rose 3.7% in May, topping forecasts of a 3% rise from a Reuters poll of economists, but industrial output and fixed-asset investment both came in lower than expected.

The Shanghai Composite closed down 0.40% at 3,018 points, while the Shenzhen CSI 300 closed down 0.47% at 3,528 points.
