Shanghai Composite down 0.29% at 2,802 points (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Shanghai , 03 Sep - Chinese shares closed mixed after yesterday's losses amid weak Asian markets.

In mainland stock market dealings banks dropped as four of China's five largest lenders reported a lower second-quarter profit after following the government's request to slash lending rates to prop up the country's struggling property sector.

Energy stocks also were among the biggest decliners.

The Shanghai Composite closed down 0.29% at 2,802 points while the Shenzhen CSI 300 rose 0.26% to 3,273 points.
