Chinese shares close lower

Shanghai Composite falls 0.83% (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Shanghai , 05 Jun - Chinese stocks closed lower, with the market's retreat led by property and retail stocks.

On the data front, China's purchasing managers' index for the services sector in May rose to 54.0 from 52.5 in April, according to figures released by S&P Global along with local media partner Caixin.

The composite output index grew to 54.1 from 52.8, to indicate that Chinese business activity expanded for a seventh successive month and at the fastest pace in a year.

A reading above 50 signals expanding sector activity while one below indicates a contraction.

The Shanghai Composite fell 0.83% to close the session at 3,065.40 points while the Shenzhen CSI 300 closed down 0.58% at 3,594.79 points.
