Chinese shares close higher, rebound from over 6-mth low
Shanghai Composite closes up 0.68% at 2,842 points (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Shanghai , 30 Aug - Chinese shares closed broadly higher, bouncing back from over six-month lows amid strong Asian markets.
The gains were largely driven by end-of-month bargain hunting, following a period of significant capital outflows that made Chinese markets the worst performers in Asia for August.
Property stocks led the gains today.
The Shanghai Composite up 0.68% at 2,842 points while the Shenzhen CSI 300 rose 1.33% to 3,321 points.
Both indexes were down between 3% and 4% for August.
