Shanghai Composite rises 0.49% (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Shanghai , 19 Aug - Chinese shares closed higher, as investors looked ahead to the People's Bank of China's decision later this week on its benchmark loan prime rate. In July, the central bank unexpectedly cut the rate to boost economic growth.

The Shanghai Composite closed up 0.49% at 2,893.67 points while the Shenzhen CSI 300 added 0.34% to end the session at 3,356.97 points.
