Bristol Myers Q2 revenue 12.2 bln usd, up 9%
Raises FY earnings guidance (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - New York, 26 Jul - US drugmaker Bristol Myers Squibb said its revenue in the second quarter rose 9% from the same period a year ago to 12.2 billion dollars. That was above an analyst consensus of 11.5 billion dollars.
The company said its diluted earnings per share for the period came in at 0.83 dollars, up from 0.99 dollars the previous year, while its adjusted EPS was 2.07 dollars, up from 1.75.
Analysts had expected an adjusted EPS of 1.63 dollars.
The drugmaker, which also raised its earnings forecast for the full year, said its results underscored continued progress on commercial execution, driving the growth portfolio and pipeline advancement.
Bristol Myers now expects diluted EPS of 0.60-0.90 dollars in the full year against 0.40-0.70 dollars previously.
At 1153 GMT Bristol Myers Squibb shares were up 5.5% in premarket trade.
