Autodesk jumps after Starboard Value reportedly builds stake
Activist investor Starboard looking for change - WSJ (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - New York, 17 Jun - Shares in Autodesk were up nearly 5% in premarket trade after the Wall Street Journal reported activist investor Starboard Value had a stake of around 500 million dollars in the design-software maker and was looking for changes.
Starboard met with Autodesk executives in recent weeks to discuss concerns related to the company's operations, corporate governance and the handling of a recent accounting probe that tanked the stock, the WSJ said, citing people familiar with the matter.
The activist thinks the company should improve its margins and make changes to its board, the people said, according to the WSJ.
At 1240 GMT Autodesk shares were up 5.2%.
