AstraZeneca Q2 revenue 12.938 bln usd, up 13%

Now sees FY revenue, core EPS up mid-teens pct (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - London, 25 Jul - Anglo-Swedish drug company AstraZeneca said that in the second quarter revenue rose a reported 13% and a constant currency 17% to 12.938 billion dollars with an 18% increase in product sales and a 42% jump in alliance revenue while collaboration revenue slumped 98%.

In the first half, revenue rose a reported 15% and a constant currency 18% to 25.617 billion dollars.

Core earnings per share in the quarter fell a reported 8% and a constant currency 3% to 1.98 dollars but in the first half fell a reported 1% and rose a constant currency 5% to 4.03 dollars.

The company said it now sees full year total revenue and core EPS growing by a mid teens percentage at constant currencies, from a previous guidance of a low double-digit to low teens percentage increase. It said that the upgraded guidance does not assume an increase in collaboration revenue.

AstraZeneca upped the interim dividend increased by 7 cents to 1.00 dollar.
