ASML Q2 net sales 6.243 bln eur vs 5.290 bln in Q1

Q2 net bookings 5.567 bln eur vs 3.611 bln in Q1 (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Amsterdam, 17 Jul - ASML, a Dutch provider of semiconductor-making machinery, said that in the second quarter net sales came in at 6.243 billion euros from 5.290 billion in the first three months of the year but down from 6.902 billion a year ago.

In the third quarter they are seen rising to 6.7-7.3 billion euros.

Net bookings increased to 5.567 billion euros from 3.611 billion in the first quarter.

The gross profit rose to 3.212 billion euros from 2.697 billion in the first quarter for a margin of 51.5%, up from 51.0%. A year ago, the gross profit was 3.544 billion euros.

In the third quarter the margin is seen steady at 50-51%.

Net income was 1.578 billion euros, against 1.224 billion in the first three months and 1.942 billion a year ago for a basic earnings per share of 4.01 euros compared with 3.11 euros in the first quarter and 4.93 euros a year ago.

"Our outlook for the full year 2024 remains unchanged. We see 2024 as a transition year with continued investments in both capacity ramp and technology. We currently see strong developments in AI, driving most of the industry recovery and growth, ahead of other market segments," said ASML president and chief executive Christophe Fouquet.

The company said it would pay an interim dividend of 1.52 euros per ordinary share on August 7.
