Nikkei down 0.29%, ASX 200 up 0.16%, KOSPI up 0.21% (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Tokyo, 21 Aug - Asian shares closed little changed in cautious trade ahead of a speech of US Fed Chair Powell at the Jackson Hole symposium on Friday.

Powell is expected to give indications whether a US rate cut is imminent.

The Nikkei was down 0.29% at 37,951 points.

In Sydney, the S&P ASX 200 closed up 0.16% at 8,010.50 points, while in Seoul the KOSPI closed up 0.21% at 2,702.35 points.

In late trade, the Shanghai Composite index was down 0.24% at 2,859.80 points and the Hong Kong Hang Seng index was down 0.91% at 17,352.00 points. In Mumbai the Sensex index fell 0.06% to 80,757.34 points.
