Sees FY capex at 2.7 bln usd (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - London, 20 Aug - Antofagasta said its first half capital expenditure was 1.06 billion dollars, up slightly from 1.02 billion a year earlier, and confirmed its full year outlook of 2.7 billion dollars.

It also backed its full-year outlook with production expected to be in the lower end of the 670,000-710,000 ton guidance range.

It noted that rising demand for copper is primarily driven by the energy transition, with electric vehicles, renewable power and related infrastructure are expected to provide support to global copper prices. Demand is forecast to grow by between 2-3% per annum through to 2030.
