Airbus wins military satellite contract from German army
Contract worth 2.1 bln eur (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - London, 04 Jul - French aerospace group Airbus said it had been awarded a 2.1 billion euro contract by Germany's armed forces for military communications satellite systems.
In a statement, Airbus said the Bundeswehr had awarded Airbus the SATCOMBw 3 prime contract for the next generation secure military satellite system which includes geostationary satellites as well as ground segment, launch and operation for 15 years.
It said the spacecraft were due to be deployed before the end of the decade.
