Raises 2024 sales guidance (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - New York, 28 Aug - US apparel retailer Abercrombie & Fitch said its sales in the second quarter rose to a record 1.134 billion dollars, up 21% from 935.345 million dollars a year earlier. Expectations were for 1.10 billion dollars Net earnings per share for the quarter ended August 3 was 2.50 dollars compared to 1.08 in the same period a year ago.

Analysts had expected 2.22 dollars per share.

The company said it expected net sales for fiscal 2024 to rise 12-13% from 4.3 billion dollars in fiscal 2023. That compares to a prior forecast of around 10% growth.

For the third quarter, Abercrombie expects sales to be up low double-digits compared to fiscal third quarter 2023 level of 935 million dollars.
