Beats expectations (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Washington, 29 Aug - Real gross domestic product (GDP) growth in the US rose at an annual rate of 3.0% in the second quarter of 2024, according to the second estimate released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

This represents a 0.2 percentage point upward revision from the 'advance' estimate.

Expectations were for GDP to rise by 2.8%.

In the first quarter, real GDP increased 1.4%.
