US May wholesale inventories up 0.6% mth/mth

Sales up 0.4% mth/mth (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Washington, 10 Jul - US wholesale trade inventories rose 0.6% month on month to 901.7 billion dollars in May from the revised April number, according to data by the US Census Bureau.

The April 2024 to May 2024 percent change was unrevised from the advance estimate of up 0.6%.

Inventories were down 0.5% from the revised May 2023 level.

Sales were up 0.4% on a monthly basis and up 1.9% on the year.

The May inventories/sales ratio for merchant wholesalers, except manufacturers' sales branches and offices, based on seasonally adjusted data, was 1.35. The May 2023 ratio was 1.39.
