US May retail sales up 0.1% mth/mth

Below expectations (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Washington, 18 Jun - US retail sales in May, seasonally and workday adjusted, rose 0.1% from the previous month to 703.1 billion dollars and were up 2.3% year on year, according to preliminary data released by the US Census Bureau.

Expectations were for sales to rise 0.3% month on month.

The March to April percent change was revised from virtually unchanged to down 0.2 percent.
