US May PPI down 0.2% mth/mth; up 2.2% yr/yr

Below expectations (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Washington, 13 Jun - US producer prices fell 0.2%, on an adjusted basis, month on month in May, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.

On an unadjusted basis, prices rose 2.2% for the 12 months ended in May, it said. It was the largest increase since a record 11.6% jump in March 2022.

Expectations were for a 0.1% increase on the month and a 2.5% rise on the year.
