May core PCE price index up 2.6% yr/yr (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Washington, 28 Jun - The PCE price index decreased less than 0.1% in May compared to April; and was up 2.6% on the year. Excluding food and energy prices, the PCE price index increased 0.1% on a monthly basis and was up 2.6% compared to May 2023.

Economists were expecting the core PCE price index to rise by 2.6%.
