US June private sector jobs up 150,000 mth/mth - ADP

Below expectations (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Washington, 03 Jul - The US private sector gained 150,000 jobs in June compared with the previous month, according to business outsourcing group ADP's Monthly Employment Report.

Economists were expecting some 159,000 new private sector jobs to be gained.

'Job growth has been solid, but not broad-based,' said Nela Richardson, chief economist, ADP. 'Had it not been for a rebound in hiring in leisure and hospitality, June would have been a downbeat month.' The data showed 5,000 jobs created at small firms, 88,000 gained at mid-sized firms and 58,000 gained at large businesses.

The survey showed that 136,000 jobs were gained in the service-providing sector and 14,000 gained in the goods-providing sector.

The May total of jobs added was revised from 152,000 to 157,000.
