Down 7.4% yr/yr (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Washington, 24 Jul - Sales of new US homes in June fell 0.6% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 617,000 from May's revised rate of 621,000, the US Commerce Department said.

Expectations were for sales of 639,000 units.

On the year, new home sales were down 7.4%.

The median sales price of new houses sold in June was 417,300 dollars. The average sales price was 487,200 dollars.

The seasonally-adjusted estimate of new houses for sale at the end of June was 476,000. This represents a supply of 9.3 months at the current sales rate.
