Below expectations (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Washington, 03 Jul - The Institute for Supply Management's index of non-manufacturing activities, a gauge of the US service sector, fell to 48.8 in June from 53.8 in May.

Expectations were for a reading of 52.6.

A reading above 50 indicates expansion.

The business activity index fell to 49.6 from 61.2 in May, while the new orders index in June fell to 47.3 from 54.1.
