June capacity utilisation rises to 78.8% (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Washington, 17 Jul - US industrial production increased 0.6% month on month in June, according to the Federal Reserve.

Expectations were for a 0.3% rise.

The manufacturing index rose by 0.4% and the mining index increased by 0.3%, while the index for utilities also rose by 0.3%.

Capacity utilization for the industrial sector rose to 78.8% in June, a rate that is 0.9 percentage points below its long-run (1972-2023) average.

Expectations were for a reading of 78.5%.
