Below expectations (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Washington, 22 Aug - The flash US manufacturing purchasing managers' index slipped to 48.0 in August from 49.6 in July, according to preliminary data released by global information provider IHS Markit that compiles the report. It marked an 8-month low for the index.

Expectations were for a reading of 49.5.
