Above forecasts (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Washington, 30 Aug - US consumer sentiment rose to 67.9 in August from 66.4 in July, according to final data from the University of Michigan.

Expectations were for it to confirm the preliminary reading of 67.8.

The current economic conditions index slipped to 61.3 from 62.7, while the index of consumer expectations increased to 72.1 from 68.8.
