Above expectations (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Washington, 27 Aug - US consumer confidence rose to 103.3 in August from 101.9 in July, the Conference Board said.

Economists were expecting the index to come in at 100.9.

The current situation index rose to 134.4 in August from 133.1 the previous month, while the expectations index increased to 82.5 from 81.1 in July.
