UK Q1 GDP up 0.7% vs Q4, revised up from 0.6%

Q1 GDP up 0.3% yr/yr (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - London, 28 Jun - In the first quarter of 2024, the UK's gross domestic product (GDP) is estimated to have increased by 0.7% compared with the previous three months, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

The reading was revised up from a first estimated increase of 0.6%.

Services grew by 0.8% on the quarter with widespread growth across the sector; elsewhere the production sector grew by 0.6% while the construction sector fell by 0.6%, ONS said.

GDP is estimated to have increased by 0.3% year on year in the first quarter.

ONS noted that GDP is estimated to have been flat in April.
