UK June house prices up 0.2% mth/mth, up 1.5% yr/yr - Nationwide

Annual rise some 3% below summer of 2022 record highs (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - London, 01 Jul - In June, house prices in the UK rose a seasonally adjusted 0.2% from May when they rose 0.4% while on an annual basis they increased 1.5%, accelerating from the 1.3% rise seen in the earlier month, according to data released by building society Nationwide.

The annual rise is around 3% below the all-time high recorded in the summer of 2022.

According to Nationwide, Housing market activity has been broadly flat over the last year, with the total number of transactions down by around 15% compared with 2019 levels, while those involving mortgages almost 25% below these levels reflecting the impact of higher borrowing costs. By contrast, the volume of cash transactions is actually around 5% above pre-pandemic levels.
