Industrial production up 7.3% yr/yr (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Bern, 16 Aug - Swiss secondary sector production rose by 6.4% in the second quarter in comparison with the same quarter a year earlier, according to provisional data from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).

It was the biggest increase since the third quarter of 2021.

Turnover rose by 4.7%.

Year on year, industrial production grew in April by 8.0%, in May by 8.6%, and in June by 5.6%. For the whole of second quarter, production increased by 7.3% in comparison with the same quarter a year earlier.

Construction production increased by 0.8% in second quarter in comparison with the same quarter a year earlier.

Year on year, industrial turnover rose 8.5% in April, 5.0% in May and 3.4% in June. For the whole of second quarter, turnover registered an increase of 5.4%.

Construction turnover rose by 1.6% in the second quarter in comparison with the same quarter a year earlier.
