EU harmonised CPI up 2.4% yr/yr (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Madrid , 29 Aug - Consumer prices in Spain in the month of August rose by 2.2% compared to the year earlier after climbing by 2.8% the previous month, according to preliminary data from statistics institute Ine.

The decrease was attributed to a fall in food and fuel prices.

Harmonised for European Union purposes, consumer prices in Spain during the month grew by 2.4% compared to the year earlier, stable on the previous month.
