Preliminary July services PMI 53.9 vs 49.4 in June (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - London, 24 Jul - In July, Japan's purchasing managers' index (PMI) for the manufacturing sector fell to 49.2 from 50.0 in June, according to preliminary data released by S&P Global and its partner au Jibun Bank.

The manufacturing output index slipped to 49.7 from 50.4 and the PMI for the services industry grew to 53.9 from 49.4.

The composite output index, a weighted average of services PMI and manufacturing output, rose to 52.6 from 49.7.

A reading above 50 signals expanding sector activity and a reading below 50 a contraction.
