June exports up 5.4% yr/yr, imports up 3.2% yr/yr (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Tokyo, 18 Jul - In June, Japan's trade surplus widened to 224.038 billion yen from 36.522 billion a year earlier, according to data released by the Ministry of Finance.

Exports rose 5.4% to 9.209 trillion yen, while imports grew 3.2% to 8.985 trillion yen.

Exports to Asia rose 7.7% with a 7.2% rise to China and a 26.7% jump to Taiwan. Exports to North America rose 12.4% while to Western Europe they fell 12.0%.
