Japan June machinery orders ex volatile up adj 2.1% mth/mth

Orders from overseas up 2.0% mth/mth vs up 9.1% in May (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Tokyo, 19 Aug - In June, private sector machinery orders in Japan, excluding volatile ones for ships and from electric power companies, rose 2.1% from May when they contracted 3.2%, according to data released by the Cabinet Office.

In manufacturing, orders fell a monthly 0.3% after rising 1.0% in May, while in non-manufacturing orders excluding volatile ones rose 2.4% after dropping 7.5% in May.

Orders from overseas rose a monthly 2.0% after jumping 9.1% in May.

In the third quarter, private sector machinery orders excluding volatile ones are seen up 0.2% from the second quarter when they fell 3.7%.
