Drop in income growth, employment components (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Tokyo, 29 Aug - In August, the consumer confidence index in Japan stood at 36.7, unchanged from July, according to data released by the Cabinet Office.

The overall livelihood component inched up 0.2 points to 34.7 and willingness to buy durable goods rose 0.9 points to 30.9.

However, the income growth component slipped 0.7 points to 39.7 and employment was 0.6 points lower at 41.4.
