EU harmonised CPI down 0.1% mth/mth, up 1.3% yr/yr (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Rome, 30 Aug - In August 2024, consumer prices in Italy rose by 0.2% compared to the previous month and were up 1.1% year on year after rising at a 1.3% annual pace in July, according to preliminary data from statistics institute Istat.

Harmonised for European Union purposes, Italian consumer prices fell by 0.1% month on month, due to the end of summer sales that are not accounted for in the headline figure. They were up by 1.3% compared to the year earlier, down from the 1.6% increase seen in July.
