Youth jobless rate 20.5%, up 0.1 pct pt vs April (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Rome , 02 Jul - Italy's unemployment rate stood at 6.8% in May, unchanged compared with the previous month, according to data from statistics institute Istat.

The jobless rate for youth, or those between the ages of 15 and 24, rose by 0.1 percentage points compared to the previous month to 20.5%.

Italy's employment rate in May decreased by 0.1 percentage points to 62.2% while the economically inactive percentage of the population grew to 33.1%, up 0.1 percentage points.
