May retail sales volume up 0.2% mth/mth, down 0.8% yr/yr (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Rome , 05 Jul - In May 2024, the value of Italian retail sales increased by 0.4% compared to the previous month while volumes rose by 0.2%, according to data from statistics institute Istat.

Sales of food products rose by 1.1% month on month in value, while volumes rose by 0.8%. Sales of non-food products decreaed by 0.2% both in value and volume terms.

Compared to the year earlier, Italian retail sales rose by 0.4% in value terms in May 2024 but volumes fell by 0.8%.

Sales of on-food products grew by 1.4% in value and fell by 0.8% in volume, while non-food products sales slipped by 0.3% in value and by 0.8% in volume.
