Italy May power demand 24.7 TWh, up 1.9%

Adj power demand steady vs yr earlier (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Rome, 21 Jun - Italy's power demand in the month of May stood at 24.7 TWh, up 1.9% on the year earlier, data from Italian power transmission operator Terna showed.

On a seasonally, calendar and temperature adjusted basis, power consumption was unchanged compared to May 2023.

Terna noted that there were 20 workdays in both May 2024 and 2023 while the average monthly temperature was also roughly in line with the year earlier.

In the first five months of 2024, power demand increased by 1.1%. On an adjusted basis, the increase was 0.2%.
