Retail sales volumes down 0.3% mth/mth (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Rome , 06 Jun - In April 2024 compared to the previous month, the value of Italian retail sales declined by 0.1% while volumes were 0.3% lower, data from statistics institute Istat showed.

Sales of food products declined by 0.7% in value terms compared to March 2024 while volumes were 0.9% lower. Non-food sales rose by 0.3% in value and by 0.2% in volumes.

Compared to April 2023, Italian retail sales decreased by 1.9% in value terms and by 3.3% in volumes. Food product sales decreased an annual 4.9% in value and 7.3% in volumes. Non-food sales increased by 0.6% in value terms while volumes were unchanged compared to the year earlier.
