Preliminary harmonised Aug CPI up 2.0% yr/yr (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Berlin, 29 Aug - In August, German consumer prices fell 0.1% month on month and rose 1.9% year on year, according to preliminary data released by the statistics office Destatis.

Harmonised consumer prices, calculated for European Union purposes, fell 0.2% month on month and rose 2.0% year on year.

Economists were expecting harmonised consumer prices to rise 2.6% year on year.
