German June economic sentiment 47.5 vs 47.1 in May - ZEW

Assessment of economic situation falls to -73.8 (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Berlin , 18 Jun - In June, the economic sentiment index in Germany inched up by 0.4 points compared to the previous month to 47.5, according to the latest survey released by think tank ZEW.

The assessment of the economic situation deteriorated slightly, falling by 1.5 points to -73.8 points.

'Both the sentiment and the situation indicators stagnate.

These developments must be interpreted in the context of a constant situation indicator for the eurozone as a whole. In contrast, the inflation expectations of the respondents increase, which is likely related to the inflation rate in May, which turned out higher than what was expected,' said ZEW president Achim Wambach.
