German July economic sentiment 41.8 vs 47.5 in June - ZEW

Assessment of economic situation rises to -68.9 (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Berlin, 16 Jul - In July, the economic sentiment index in Germany fell to 41.8 points from 47.5 in June, according to the latest survey released by think tank ZEW.

The assessment of the economic situation however improved, rising 4.9 points to -68.9 points.

'The economic outlook is worsening. For the first time in a year, economic expectations for Germany are falling. The fact that German exports decreased more than expected in May, the political uncertainty in France and the lack of clarity regarding the future monetary policy by the ECB have contributed to this development,' said ZEW president Achim Wambach.
