Preliminary EU harmonised CPI up 0.6% mth/mth, up 2.2% yr/yr (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Paris , 30 Aug - In August, consumer prices in France rose by 0.6% compared to the previous month and were up 1.9% year on year, according to preliminary data from statistics institute Insee.

Compared to the year earlier, prices rose by 1.9% after a 2.3% increase in July.

Harmonised for European Union purposes, consumer prices in the country in August rose by 0.6% month on month and by 2.2% year on year, the preliminary data also showed. This compares with a 0.2% monthly increase and a 2.7% annual rise in July.
