Eurozone unemployment up 38,000 mth/mth (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Brussels , 02 Jul - In May 2024, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in the eurozone was 6.4%, stable compared with the previous month and down from 6.5% in May 2023, according to data from European Union statistical office Eurostat.

For the EU as a whole, the unemployment rate was 6.0% in May 2024, also stable compared with the previous month as well as with May 2023.

Eurostat estimates that 13.2 million people in the EU, of whom 11.078 million in the eurozone, were unemployed in May 2024.

Compared with April 2024, unemployment increased by 13,000 in the EU and by 38,000 in the euro area.

Compared with May 2023, unemployment increased by 163,000 in the EU and by 3,000 in the euro area.
