EU May CPI up 2.7% yr/yr vs up 2.6% in April (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Brussels , 18 Jun - In May 2024, the annual inflation rate in the eurozone rose to 2.6% from 2.4% in April, according to figures published by European Union statistical office Eurostat.

The May figure was in line with preliminary data.

For the EU as a whole, the annual inflation rate edged up to 2.7% in May 2024 from 2.6% the previous month.

In May, the highest contribution to the annual euro area inflation rate came from services (up 1.83 percentage points), followed by food, alcohol & tobacco (up 0.51 points), non-energy industrial goods (up 0.18 points) and energy (up 0.04 points).
