Eurozone June M3 up 2.2% yr/yr vs up 1.5% in May - ECB

Adj private sector loans up 1.1% yr/yr vs up 0.8% in May (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Frankfurt, 25 Jul - The eurozone's broad monetary aggregate M3 increased 2.2% year on year in June, accelerating from 1.5% in May and averaging 1.7% in the three months up to June, according to data released by the European Central Bank.

The narrower aggregate M1, which comprises currency in circulation and overnight deposits, fell 3.4% in June after dropping 5.0% in May. The annual growth rate of short-term deposits other than overnight deposits (M2-M1) decreased to 12.7% in June from 14.7% in May.

The annual growth rate of adjusted loans to the private sector increased to 1.1% in June from 0.8% in May. Among the borrowing sectors, the annual growth rate of adjusted loans to households stood at 0.3% in June, unchanged from the previous month, while the annual growth rate of adjusted loans to non-financial corporations increased to 0.7% in June from 0.3% in May.
