Eurozone June CPI confirmed up 2.5% yr/yr

EU June CPI up 2.6% yr/yr (Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Brussels , 17 Jul - In June, consumer prices in the eurozone rose by 2.5% compared to the year earlier, down from 2.6% the previous month and in line with preliminary indications, data from European Union statistical office Eurostat showed.

Compared to the month earlier, consumer prices in the eurozone rose by 0.2%.

For the EU as a whole, consumer prices rose by 0.2% month on month and by 2.6% year on year in June, down from the annual inflation rate of 2.7% in May.

In June 2024, the highest contribution to the annual euro area inflation rate came from services (up 1.84 percentage points), followed by food, alcohol & tobacco (up 0.48 points), non-energy industrial goods (up 0.17 points) and energy (up 0.02 points).
